Weekly Update - 27th Mar 2013

u21 Clonmel Og / Clerihan team were defeated by Swan tonite in Semi Final at New Inn played in Shocking conditions.
A big thank you to all our players who made a huge effort to be there for game traveling back from Dublin,Cork, Galway,Limerick and Waterford.
Its was close to cruel making both teams play in the awful conditions. The GAA and South Board do great work to promote and give players a platform to play our games but tonights game which both teams were forced to play, in unplayable conditions did nothing to promote GAA.
Great credit goes to our lads who fought back in the second half to get within a point of Swan after being 11pts down at half time. Swan showed good composure in the final 10 mins and held on for the victory by
4-3 to 3-1, the loss of our Captain Darragh Kearney to illness before game was a big loss but lads who took to the field gave it there all and can be proud of there efforts,
Well done to Swan who prob deserved the win on the night and best of luck to them in final.
Thanks to all members of u21 Valley Rovers panel
and mentors and best of luck for the u21 Hurling and Minor grades.
(Thank you to Noel Walsh for this report)
