We would encourage any parents who are buying new boots, helmets or hurleys to consider donating undamaged used gear. We've all managed to forget our boots or hurley for a training session at one stage or another so they will be much appreciated. Gear can be given to any of the club mentors.

Juvenile girls training for U14, U12, & U10s resumes on Saturday at 12.00. All are welcome!

Tough day at the office yesterday for the combined Clonmel Og & Clerihan U21 footballers in our second round match vs. Killenaule. We started the game poorly, and apart from a 10 minute purple patch either side of half time, things got progressively worse. Handling errors and missed chances saw our opponents race into a nine point lead but good points from Stevie O' Connell and Darragh Kearney kept us in touch. A missed goal chance right on the half time whistle proved very costly and we went in 0.02 to 1.06 down at the break. A bright start to the second half cut the deficit to five points and we were playing reasonably well. Killenaule came back strongly and kept the scoreboard ticking over whilst we were struggling in too many areas of the pitch. Three late goals for our opponents put a gloss on their tally. Final score 0.05 to 4.13.

It's fair to say that Killenaule were much better on the day, but the final score did not reflect the balance of play. However, the players need to take stock and consider their own efforts over the hour. Attendances at training from the U21s are not what they should be and need to be improved if we are do well in this competition. Our best players over the hour were Stevie O' Connell, Aaron Arrigan, & Darragh Kearney who was playing his third game in a 24 hour period. Team: Shane Murphy, Mark Duggan, Aaron Arrigan, Paddy Power, Dean Horton, Declan Bennett, Shane Fehilly, Darragh Kearney (c), Leo Curtain, Eddie Power, Stevie O' Connell, Dan Walsh, Conor Arrigan, Dean Kelleher, Mikey Lynch, Brian Bates, Mike Walsh

We will most likely be out against Mullinahone next weekend with the winner progressing to the knock out stages so it is vital that the panel mind themselves and prepare as well as they possibly can for the game. C'mon the Og!
