MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK
We want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all who made this U6 & U8 blitz such a success. Almost 150 boys and girls took part and enjoyed themselves in glorious sunshine over Ned Hall Park. South Tipperary Action Network promoted this blitz to highlight the important link between physical activity and mental health and we were very happy to lend our support.
A huge amount of work went on behind the scenes beforehand and on the day itself, and we couldn't have made it happen without the help of the following: Tommy, Ciaran, Ross, Jimmy, Pakie, Brian, Ivan, Tom, Mark, Noel, John, Frank, Jason, Donna, Katie, Sharon, Fiona, Ali, Gina, Elaine, & Johnny. Well done all.
Thanks to all the parents who provided food and a special thank you to the Moyle Rovers club for coming in with such great numbers and contributing to a wonderful day.
After the victory over St Marys at Ned Hall Park by 4-7 to 1-5, the Clonmel Og/Clerihan combo hurling team had another win against Ballingarry [away] in the O Dwyer cup by 4-11 to 1-7.
We travelled to Carrick on Suir to take part in a Hurling blitz organised by the Carrick Swan club. We were in a group with Clonea- Power, St Mollerens and Carrick Swan. Our first game against Clonea- Power was a very tight affair where we played very well but we failed to take a few chances and we lost by 1 point. In our second outing we faced St Mollerens but as the saying goes we didn't turn up and were well beaten . Our third game against Carrick Swan finally saw us victorious and the highlight of this game was a superb goal by Julian Kerton. Another great experience for the boys and an enjoyable days hurling. We would like to thank Carrick Swan for the invitation and also a big thanks to the parents who travelled and supported us again we really appreciate it and credit to the panel of players for their efforts.
We finished runners up in the shield of the John Cummins U10 football tournament. Our 18 strong squad were a credit to their parents, club and themselves, lead abley by none other than their captain and talisman, Dylan Murphy, who racked up an impressive 4-15 on the day. Well done boys
Another great outing had by our U6 footballers on Sunday 21st September in Mullinahone. We played games against the hosts, Fethard, & Rockwell and ate like kings at the after blitz refreshments. Big thank you to Mullinahone for the invite and to Terry Mahony for taking the pictures.
