Honours even in Clonmel. Our U14 hurlers gave a superb display this evening and were in desperate hard luck not to secure a place in the final. The combo started strongly and took a commanding 2.06 to 1.02 lead into the break. However, after a rousing speech by manager Joe Barrett, our boys came out like men possessed and dominated the second half. We took a 2.09 to 2.07 lead into the last 3 minut
es but two late frees saw the combo of Fr. Sheehys and Newcastle claim an unlikely draw. This was a brilliant second half performance by all our boys who stood up to their physically bigger opponents and showed tremendous hunger. We will need to replicate that performance for the full of the replay. Well done all concerned.
Final score 2.09 to 2.09
