Two good wins for ladies

posted 30 Aug 2010, 07:13 by Admin Clonmel Og
The Clonmel Og Ladies footballers have been busy in action  and recorded wins in rounds 2 & 3 of the championship. On 8th August we welcomed Cahir B to Ned Hall Park and after a tricky first half, we pulled away to record a comfortable 5.12 to 1.07 win. Best for the Og were Niamh Hogan, Ann Quirke, Una Kennedy, & Jean Meagher. Unfortunately late in the second half Michelle Hassett suffered a recurrence of a knee injury and will be out of action for a number of weeks. We all wish her a very speedy recovery.
Team: Michelle Hassett, Niamh Hogan, Siobhan Phelan, Colette Rice, Helen Quirke, Sheena Mullins, Ann Quirke, Mary-Rose Quirke (c), Shauna Ryan, Valerie Mc Carthy, Una Kennedy, Rachel O’ Regan, Claire O’ Connor, Jean Meagher, Amy Slattery, Stacey Hughes & Sarah Loh.

On Friday 13th we travelled to St. Patrick’s College to play Thurles B. Two early goals from Valerie Mc Carthy set us on our way, and more excellent finishing by Jean Meagher, Amy Slattery, Shauna Ryan, Una Kennedy, & Rachel O’ Regan followed. This was another very good team performance and the management appreciates the effort a number of girls made to make the match in time. Final Score 6.16 to 3.03
