Heartbreak for the senior footballers who were defeated by 3 points in the playoff vs. Cahir last night. Right from the off things just weren't going right for us, but we kept at it and never gave up. The highlight of the evening was a second half Ian Purcell goal that was as good a strike as you are ever likely to see. Unfortunately, we had left ourselves too much to do. A late Johnny Cagney pena
lty reduced the deficit to two, but when it looked like we might have had a free in midfield - and a chance to launch another attack - the referee awarded the ball to Cahir and they scored with the last play of the game. All told, the effort can't be faulted, but handling errors and costly frees conceded put paid to our ambitions. We also lined out without the injured Graham Quinn and Matthew Norris. Congratulations to Aaron Arrigan who made his senior debut last night, he has many good years ahead of him. Best on the night for the Og were Conor Morrissey and Johnny Cagney.
