Senior Footballers get off to good Start

posted 3 May 2010, 11:39 by Admin Clonmel Og

We made our first appearance in this year’s South Championship in Munroe on Saturday evening last when we took on Fethard. Although the pitch was in perfect condition it became greasy due to constant drizzle which made it difficult for the players. We were two points to one down at half time with Michael Condon scoring the point. We improved greatly in the second half and points from Johnny Cagney 4, Shane Kearney, Malcolm O’ Connor, Christy Aylward and Mathew Norris saw us run out 9 points to 6 winners although Fethard put us under considerable pressure in an explosive last 5 minutes.

TEAM- Keith Madigan, Aidan Fox, Conor Morrissey, Brian Gentles, Michael Condon, Noel Walsh ( captain), Christy Aylward, Shane Kearney, John Cagney, Mathew Norris, Robbie Hickey, Ian Purcell, Cian Hogan, Malcolm O’ Connor, Graham Quinn, Ivan Mc Menamin, John Landers, Keenan O’ Sullivan, Eoin Fallon, Colin O’ Mahoney, Aidan Rouse, Ross Aylward.

We play Carrick Swan in the first round of the County Senior Football Championship on Saturday evening next in Kilsheelan at 7pm.
