Our senior footballers played out a nail biting draw with Carrick Swan in the first round of this years County Senior Football Championship played in Kilsheelan on Saturday evening last. For 45 minutes of this game we were in control of this tie but all credit to our opponents who made a tremendous comeback from ten points down to level the game at full time. We led 1-06 to 0-03 at the break with Shane Kearney getting our goal and Cian Hogan, Noel Walsh, Mathew Norris, Christy Aylward, Johnny Cagney and Graham Quinn getting our points. Swan scored a goal and a point in the first couple of minutes of the second period but we responded well with points from Johnny Cagney 3, Michael Condon and Ian Purcell plus a goal from Cian Hogan giving us a nine point lead but Carrick Swan played out of their skins and hit us with 3 goals and point to our solitary point from Mathew Norris. We had extra time points from Jonathan Donahue and Ian Purcell which our opponents matched to leave the final score at Clonmel Og 2-14, Carrick Swan 4-08
