Hats off to the junior hurlers who had a fine win against a tough Mullinahone side this evening in Cloneen. We were a little slow to start but soon settled into the game and two cracking goals from Matthew Norris and Dean Kelleher saw us take an 8 point lead into the break (2.09 to 0.07). Mullinahone scored a goal immediately after the break and tagged on a point to cut the deficit to 4, but the i
rrepressible Dean Kelleher soon notched his second and third goals to leave no doubt about the result. This was a fine team performance but the three Kearneys and the aforementioned Kelleher were superb from start to finish. Final score 4.14 to 1.12
We have qualified for the quarter final but have one game remaining against Ballingarry to decide who tops the group and goes straight into the semi final. We lined out tonight without a lot of players for various reasons and look forward to their return to the panel. The team has good cover in all positions and this bodes well for the rest of the campaign. Well done all involved.
