Busy Times for Juveniles

posted 17 May 2010, 07:03 by Admin Clonmel Og

We sent an U/9 and U/10 team to the recent Munster Hurling Fun Day. We travelled to the Erin’s Own club in Cork and one can only admire their tremendous facilities. Our U/9s played really well against the host club who had two teams and Blarney. They were three exciting games which our lads really enjoyed. Conor Tobin was outstanding on the day while Cathal McGuigan, Sean Fitzpatrick, Shane Fitzgibbon, Rhys O Regan, Jamie Doyle, Ben Kearns, Thomas Hickey, Jack Ryan and Luke Condon represented Clonmel Og with pride and we thank them for their efforts.

Our U/10s also had three great games against Erin’s Own, Blarney and Clerihan and we were pleasantly surprised because we were missing a few and up to now we had been concentrating on football. When we got into our rhythm we hurled really well with Jack Downey, Shane Curran, Derry Phelan, Jake Guinan and Brian Murphy to the fore while Cian O’ Sullivan, Kenny Dillon, T.J.Quigley, Fergal De Fhaoite, Shane O’ Connor, Michael Carroll, Sean O’ Leary and Ralph Farrell caught the eye. A big thanks to host club Erin’s Own for their tremendous hospitality and to The Munster Council for the tops and stockings the boys received after the games. This undertaking would not have been possible without the efforts of the coaches, Elaine and John Downey, Dave Charles, Jock O’ Connor, Sean Quirke and all the parents who travelled your support is much appreciated.
